AOL creates a new competition for Google by launching its self-service ad management platform. The new AOL project is a beta version of Ad Desk that will help businesses and advertisers manage their own advertisements online with the use of media planning and analytical tools.
This new ad platform gives flexibility to advertisers as they will be able to control better their advertisements and campaigns. The ads can be easily scheduled on when or where you like them to appear and how much money you are willing to spend on that specific campaign.
Currently, Ad Desk is centered to catering medium-sized companies and advertisers. AOL claims that the services featured by Ad Desk are something new to the world of advertising which have never been used before.
According to AOL, they will be allotting extensive research and development in the future to make this service even better to be able to meet the expectations and requirements of the advertisers.
